And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Hebrews 10:24
I got sick during December. At the doctor’s office I was forced by an evil lady in scrubs to step on the dreaded scales. YIKES! I had gained 10 pounds. It shocked me. I immediately took action. Limited my sugar (which on a limited scale is still probably way off the charts). Got back to exercise. Stopped eating after 8:00pm. (on most nights)
All of these things helped but the greatest benefit has been Brandy and My Fitness Pal. On My Fitness Pal we started recording everything we eat. The app not only totals your calories but your macros as well. On days when I am just about to fall off the wagon completely and divulge in a tub of Bluebell Butter Crunch, I get a happy text from Brandy with a screenshot of her macros. That’s all I need to get my mind back on track and off the sugar wagon.
I’m so thankful for Brandy and her accountability. She doesn’t have to care about my health. She doesn’t have to take time to hold me accountable but she does.
Sometimes I think we dread the A word – accountability. But when you think about it, it really works. It’s what we need!
If you’ve made a New Year’s Resolution or set goals, tell someone! Find an accountability friend and let them keep you on the right track!
